Job Description
RESPONSIBILTIES
As an Associate Design Director, you will support the Design Director in driving the execution, alignment, and day-to-day coordination of the project’s design vision across pillars and disciplines. You will act as a key operational and creative partner, helping ensure design decisions, priorities, and follow-through remain consistent across the project.
Partner closely with the Design Director to define the architecture of shared systems at the intersection of design and programming, including the creator facing-UGC API through which creators build their own experiences. Strong architectural thinking is central to this role: defining clear systems, reusable capabilities, and consistent interfaces.
Support design decision-making on gameplay systems, player experience, workflows, and feature implementation.
Collaborate closely with Production, Engineering, Art, UX, Animation, Audio, and other disciplines to ensure alignment between creative goals and execution realities.
Help identify risks, blockers, communication gaps, and production challenges, and proactively work toward solutions.
Contribute to reviews, playtests, iteration, and feature evaluations to help maintain quality and consistency across the experience.
RESPONSIBILTÉS
En tant qu’Associate Design Director, vous soutiendrez le Design Director dans l’exécution, l’alignement et la coordination quotidienne de la vision design du projet à travers les différents piliers et disciplines. Vous agirez comme un partenaire créatif et opérationnel clé afin d’assurer la cohérence des décisions, priorités et suivis design à l’échelle du projet.
Collaborer étroitement avec le directeur du design pour définir l’architecture de systèmes partagés à la croisée du design et de la programmation, notamment l’API de création de contenu utilisateur (UGC) permettant aux créateurs de construire leurs propres expériences. La capacité à penser en termes d’architecture est au cœur de ce rôle : définir des systèmes clairs, des fonctionnalités réutilisables et des interfaces cohérentes.
Collaborer étroitement avec les équipes de Production, Ingénierie, Art, UX, Animation, Audio et les autres disciplines afin d’assurer l’alignement entre les objectifs créatifs et les réalités de production.
Identifier les risques, blocages, problèmes de communication et défis de production, puis contribuer activement à leur résolution.

QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Requirements:
Demonstrated experience defining system architectures at the intersection of design and programming, translating complex needs into clear abstractions, reusable building blocks, and well-defined interfaces.
Strong understanding of modularity, abstraction, and composition, with the ability to explain architectural decisions and their tradeoffs to both designers and engineers.
Strong understanding of gameplay systems, player experience, progression, systemic design, and production realities.
Experience collaborating closely with Design, Production, Engineering, Art, and UX leadership.
Desired Characteristics:
Experience designing creator tools, scripting interfaces, APIs, or frameworks used by others to build gameplay experiences.
